Education and Development

We are excited to announce a new initiative for 2025, Female Empowerment Seminars! We will have two options: in person sessions where you will hear from HUD Certified Housing Counselors on developing a sustainable budget, improving your credit score, how to look out for predatory lending, increasing savings, and more. After the seminar, participants have the opportunity to schedule a one on one appointment with a counselor to begin credit & budget counseling.

Our second option is our Female Empowerment Fast Track. These are very limited enrollment and will be held at the office of SNHS. The first hour will be an abbreviated group session and the second hour, clients will meet one on one with their counselor to begin credit & budget counseling.

We are very grateful to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and The Womens’ Fund for helping make this programming possible.

Available to Somerset, Worcester & Wicomico County Residents

• The dates of our upcoming seminars are as follows: 
  • Sat. Jan. 11th – 10:00am – 12:00pm, Female Empowerment Seminar, Snow Hill Branch/Worcester County Library
  • Wed. Jan. 22nd – Female Empowerment Fast Track, SNHS Office. AM Group session will be 9am – 10am, individual appointments will be 11am – 12pm. PM Group Session will be 1pm – 2pm, individual appointments will be 2pm-3pm.
  • Wed. Feb. 19th – Female Empowerment Fast Track, SNHS Office. AM Group session will be 9am – 10am, individual appointments will be 11am – 12pm. PM Group Session will be 1pm – 2pm, individual appointments will be 2pm-3pm.
  • Sat. Mar. 8th – 10:00am – 12:00pm, Female Empowerment Seminar, Station 16, Cypress St., Salisbury
  • Wed. Mar. 12th – Female Empowerment Fast Track, SNHS Office. AM Group session will be 9am – 10am, individual appointments will be 11am – 12pm. PM Group Session will be 1pm – 2pm, individual appointments will be 2pm-3pm.
  • Sat. Apr. 5th – 10:00am – 12:00pm, Female Empowerment Seminar, Somerset Co, Location TBA
  • Wed. Apr. 16th – Female Empowerment Fast Track, SNHS Office. AM Group session will be 9am – 10am, individual appointments will be 11am – 12pm. PM Group Session will be 1pm – 2pm, individual appointments will be 2pm-3pm.
